Support for families living with autism, built around what makes each child unique.

I am Paola Carlton, autism specialist and family counselor. I let every child set the pace through their own signals; from there, I design a clear, respectful path with you to understand them and nurture their social growth and independence together.

I’m passionate about autism

I love discovering what’s behind each person. To this day, I’ve never met two people who are alike; human diversity is endless. Understanding how each brain works and how it experiences the world is as rewarding as it is fascinating.

My story

My journey with autism

Ever since I was little, I’ve felt a deep calling to serve. I helped out with organizations and volunteered at hospitals. That’s what led me to study Special Education, with no idea yet that my real passion would be autism.

Everything changed in my junior year of college, more than 20 years ago, when I was assigned a research project on the autism spectrum. The more I assessed, researched and dug into this world, the more certain I was that I’d found my path.

So I took a big step. I traveled from Guayaquil, Ecuador, to the United States to train in a highly specialized program. Only 11 people in the world have this training, and I’m the only Spanish speaker.

Today, 20 years later, I’m still learning and researching with the same fascination I had on day one. And I’m sure of one thing: I could only have gotten here because it was my soul’s calling.

Programs

Programs for families with autism

Everything is online, and I work with families all over the world. The techniques I use are similar, but they don’t work the same way for everyone. If you’re not sure where to start, start with the initial consultation.

Initial Consultation

  • 50 minutes
  • One-on-one
  • Via Zoom

A consultation to assess where your child is on a socialization scale. Even possible misdiagnoses get reviewed.

Who it’s for

If you’re confused, or feel like there’s something you still don’t understand and no one has explained it to you. Understanding autism can be challenging. I’ll make it easy for you.

What’s included

  • An intake form before the consultation.
  • Weaknesses and goals, flexibility, focus and eye contact.
  • An action plan with techniques you can start using right away.

The Journaling Circle

  • Monthly membership
  • 10–15 minutes a day
  • New theme every month

A writing space to turn down the external noise, untangle your emotions, and bring order to inner chaos. You don't need to write pretty words to be here; the gift is writing freely, without judging what ends up on the page.

Who it’s for

Moms, dads, caregivers, partners, professionals. Especially if your life is shaped by everything that can come with autism in the family.

Every month you’ll get

  • Guided prompts, so you’re never stuck wondering what to write.
  • Self-leadership tools.
  • A space to unload what’s weighing on you.

What families say

  • “No more diapers!!!! We started the very day after the session, and today it’s real!!!”
  • “…Emma is finally out of diapers!!!! […] Every step we’ve taken has been a win!!!”

My message for you

Sometimes the path is lonely. That happens when you’re the first one walking it.

It takes inner strength to see the fear and do it anyway.

It takes courage.

It takes tuning out both the people cheering you on and the ones telling you not to go, because they can only speak from their own experience.

Remember, this path is NEW. You’re clearing it for the ones who will come after you.

This is your mission and your duty. You’ve been given the light to guide the way.

The path is lonely, but only at first. Once it’s cleared, you’ll make it to the end and watch a crowd walk the road YOU built.
